You are viewing a set of 22 Composition and 1 plastic zoo animals with a wooden City Zoo display. I believe that the composition animals are all elastolin with the exception of the goose. It is made of a chalk/plaster type material with lead feet. The Ostrich is the only one that is actually marked Elastolin. The display measures about 24" wide x 17" deep and 9" tall. It features 3 cage areas with one removable partition that can be placed inside any of the cages to separate the ferocious animals from one another. It is painted to resemble grey cement blocks with vines growing on the buildings. There are wire bars to contain the animals in the cages with removable wooden tops on the cages for placement of the animals. The center has a resting area for the people visiting with walkways and benches for seating the tired visitors after a long stroll through the zoo. There is also a platform that is green on one side resembling grass and brown on the other side resembling sand/dirt that the animals can be displayed on as well, such as the grazing animals being sent out to pasture. The plastic animal is a 1972 Britains England Elephant. It is the smaller of the elephants pictured together. The largest elephant measures about 11 inches long and the small polar bear cub measures about 2 1/2 inches long with the other animals measuring in sizes between them. There are a total of 4 elephants. The smallest one is attached to the display. There are 2 grizzly bears, 2 polar bears, 2 hump camel (left rear leg is cracked but, he stands okay), Giraffe, zebra, moose, kangaroo, ostrich, ferocious tiger and lion with snarled teeth showing, cheetah, Ibez with long curved horns, goose, hyena, badger, boxer dog (tape around front legs) and another dog. There is light paint loss on the animals and some have seam cracks where they were molded together. The play set would make a fantastic addition to any collection.
