You are bidding on a 23 piece, service for 6 of child's porcelain dishes, which includes 6 cups, 6 saucers, 6 plates, sugar bowl and lid, creamer, platter and vegetable dish. (No tea pot, unfortunately). I have loved this set for many years, because of the wonderful transfer decorations of adults and children in costume at a Halloween or costume party. Note the decorations, and the rollerskates! have tried to include photographs many of the transfers. People in clown costumes, colonial costumes, uniforms, etc. The porcelain is a heavy, cream colored, soft-paste type with some crazing, one saucer has a slight hairline and maybe a, tiny flake on one or two pieces. Overall, remarkably good condition! All pieces have painted gold trim, some with slight, minor wear or rubbing. The plates and serving pieces are marked WESTEND 154 with a pottery shaped mark, decorated with swastica-like marks (see photo) (this could be German made, but I don't know) A couple of the pieces are marked PURITAN W.E.P.CO. and ELO. They all came together. I'm thinking these date from early 1900's, from both the costumes and the uniformed gentleman. It's a great set that you will love to include with any Halloween or costume collection! Please email me with any questions. Thanks for looking!
