WAIT!!! This is only one of a HUGE, 30 to 40 year old collection of seashells that belonged to my uncle. So, before you forget, check my other auctions for some amazing shell specimens!! Many have operculum and are preserved for collection! Unfortunately, I don't know anything about shells. My uncle was an avid diver and collector of shells. He travelled extensively, diving and gathering shells in many locations around the world. The collection has been stored since the early 70's. Most were collected between 1960 and 1972. They were individually wrapped or carefully boxed and many are labeled as to date, location found and name. However, many of them are NOT labeled, or the labels have become dislocated from the shells and I don't know which is which. You may find that I have either insufficiently labeled or improperly named a shell in the description. That is because I have no idea what I am doing!!! Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to go by the slips of paper they were labeled with, but many are deteriorated, or only have partial information. I simply cannot keep the collection and would like for the specimens to go to someone who has knowledge of and place for these beauties. So goes... This auction is for a big queen conch with lovely pink coloring inside. It is 230mm or about 9" inches in length. The only information I have for them is what I can see. I don't know what qualities to look for, so see the pix and ask any questions you may have before bidding, please. Now for the payment and shipping details. Winning bidder to pay 12.00 shipping and handling. Insurance is optional, but recommended. The shell will be shipped via usps parcel post or priority (additional charge will apply,) depending upon your choice below. Due to the fragility and nature of this sale, no returns or exchanges will be accepted.
