We have the complete set of 7 original B-24 Liberator set of RESTRICTED military manuals, produced by Consolidated Aircraft. Each separate book is marked with the Consolidated Eagle circular hallmark, and the words Consolidated Aircraft Company, San Diego, California, embossed in gold gilt, several also with the words Flight and Service Manual. Each volume is dark brown leather bound with gold gilt titles on the boards (but the gold gilt has begun to tarnish to a green tinge). Inside front title pages state that "This manual is correct as of September 15, 1942" Each manual also has wonderful full color artwork by R.F. Duggan with clever poetry in the front, as well as the more serious information contained inside. The hard leather carrying case or flight bag is also embossed with these markings. Also included is a revised, paperback Pilot Training Manual for the Liberator, revised 1 May 1945, which surpersedes the original tan colored manual. This manual says it is AAF Manual #50-12. This paper covered restricted training manual has tattered edges and is more fragile than the leather bound manuals, as you can see in the photo. The leather bound manuals are in very good to excellent condition, light foxing on the front and back flypapers, but otherwise clean and odor free. 2 servicemen's names are inside, one on the front cover and one who preceded him on the back cover. We can provide these names in a private email to bidders, out of respect to these heroes privacy. There are many fold-out diagrams in the manuals, and one separate hand colored hydraulic system diagram, #32x38, professionally drawn by F.L. Sirene, Traced by L.B. Sion, for instruction purposes only...serviceman's hand inked notations on the numbered lines. Each of the leather manuals has the name B-24D Airplane on the front cover, in addition to their titles. Included are: Flight Manual Service and Instruction Manual Airplane General Instruction Manual Electricity Service and Instruction Manual Armanent Instruction Manual Power Plant Service and Instruction Manual Radio Instruction Manual HydraulicsThe leather hardcase flight bag or case is slightly battered, see the photo..the front strap is broken, but the back strap is complete, the snap lock works (is not locked and we do not have a key), one interior flap is torn off, but is inside the bag. We can furnish further pictures upon request. Shipping will be at buyer's expense, and due to the unusually high value of this item, we may have to make some type of special arrangement with the shipper, ie: Fed Ex, UPS, etc. We always welcome local pickup. No International shipping available on this item. We strive to describe all merchandise as accurately as possible, with emphasis on any flaws or unique traits, and will issue refunds ONLY if merchandise is not as described. Absolutely no returns or adjustments to the price you legally agreed to pay if you do not notify us within 3 days of receipt of item. If your item arrives damaged, PLEASE save the item, the original packing materials and the box it was shipped in, as we will file a claim with the shipper, ie: USPS, Fed Ex, etc. We insure all items during shipping.
