Complete set of service for Four Staffordshire Crown Clarence. These are Six piece place settings including: Dinner plates, cake or salad plates, soup/cereal bowls, dessert/berry bowls, cups and saucers. Pattern is Byron. Beautiful scenery on all pieces. Some staining under glaze on the dinner plates. Crazing on all pieces as to be expected from age and use. No chips or cracks. Color is blue and sometimes looks green depending on the lighting...I guess you would call the color Teal. These display beautifully and would look great displayed all together in your china cabinet! Bottom under glaze says "Crown Clarence, Staffordshire, Byron, Made in England" Twenty-four pieces total! Circa 1920's - 1940's.
A piece of the makers history: The company that made the Crown Clarence line is JH Cope and Co. and went out of business in 1946. This company was in business for a short while from 1887-1946. They are also known for their Windsor and Balmoral names.
