This is a small hardbacked Book/Folder measuring 14cm x 12cm containing 24 Views of Hull. Age ? It carried the pencilled date of "c1880's" when it passed into my hands some years ago but the booklet itself doesn't carry a printed date. The Rookledge & Turner advertisement on the IBC selling among other items, -bicycles & rocking horses - would suggest it could possibly be of that era. -------------------------- All the captioned images are photographic (not letterpress printed) although the hardback folder is printed by some sort of die-stamped processwith the main typematter recessed & printed in gold.The Captions are as follows: Holy Trinity Church - Holy Trinity Church Interior - Dock Offices and Monument - Wilberforce Monument - Hull from the Humber Dock Offices - Paragon and Station Hotel - Queen's Landing Stage and Ferry - Orphan Asylum-Spring Bank - Queen's Statue-Park - Infirmary Sailor's Orphan Home-Park Street - St.Mary's Church - King William's Monument - Market Place - Town Hall - Christ's Church - Cemetary-Princess's Avenue Trinity Hospital - Dock Office and Monument from Princess's Dock - English Presbytarian Church - Jubilee Chapel-Spring Bank Albion Chapel and Institute - St Mathew's Church Anlaby Road (these last 2 are only just attached to main group).
