A lovely large, vintage, mismatched 50-piece tea set consisting of 25 cups and 25 saucers. All have mismatched, (not matching) co-ordinated saucers. 6 cups and 2 saucers are ironstone or similar and all other pieces are bone china. All pieces are by English makers and include the following renowned names: Colclough, Royal Sutherland, Mayfair, Coalport, Duchess, Sheriden, Gainsborough, Dorchester, K Aynsley and Elizabethan. All are standard sized teacups apart from 6 (possibly 7) which are a little smaller. They may be coffee cups (but good sized ones) as they are only are tiny bit shorter than the others (by half - 1cm). Very good overall vintage condition. The patterns are lovely and bright and the gilding is mainly excellent, a little wear to a few, more so to the 2 pink cups with pink roses. There are a few little faults as follows: The pale blue cup and cup with the two large pink roses have a small widthways hairline to their handle and a ditsy rosebud cup has a very tiny over-glazed chip to the rim from time of manufacture. No other chips or cracks apart from what has been mentioned. Most pieces are free from crazing. A few have some fine/minor crazing, nothing major.
