We are offering the uniform of Buffalo Soldier officer John E. Green of the 25th Infantry one of only three black line officers in the US army. It includes his tunic he wore and trousers, this item come's from the Anthony Powell collection the largest dealing with the African American solider. Powell began collecting over 45 years ago because of age and health issues Powell is offering his fine collection . Over the next few weeks more of the collection will come up for sale! John E. Green served in the army from 1898 to 1928 after he retired he made his home in the Oakland California home. We made a huge mistake with one item we sold because we did not check to make sure it was correct as Powell's notes indicated that will not happen again!!
