This auction is for a beautiful Herkimer diamond quartz crystal. The crystal measures 26mm long, 19mm wide, and 14mm thick. It weighs 8.0 grams. T is a small matrix contact on the back of the crystal, and two micro striation areas. Other than this its externally flawless! T are a few small anthaxolite inclussions, and internal chambers. The shape of the crystal is awsome, one pointed termination, one flat termination, and a nice window face shown in the third pic. The clarity is also pretty sweet, and it has that extra brilliant glow to it. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding! None of my stones are treated with or cleaned with any sort of chemical or acid. They have been cleaned with a toothbrush and water only! Guaranteed!! All of my auctions are Guaranteed to be exactly what is shown in the photos. No example pics or look a likes, what you see is what you get. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Blessings! Common Terms "Courtesy of HerkMinersPlace" Anthraxolite Some crystals contain Anthraxolite, which is petrified (fossilized) plant life. The Anthraxolite resembles bits of black coal within the crystals. A high concentration of Anthraxolite gives the crystals a lustrous black effect. The Anthraxolite also may form into Phantom crystals when higher concentrations are present within while the Herkimer's are forming, these are rare and beautiful. Lower or diffused concentrations of Anthraxolite may also turn the Herkimer's into smoky quartz.A Bridge Crystal is recognized as a smaller crystal which is part in and part out of a larger crystal. Almost always t will be striations w the two meet, rarely they may: Drusy Herkimer quartz crystals are occasionally found as the lining of Pockets, often more beautiful to the beholder then many of the crystals in the Pocket. The Drusy Pocket roofs have almost always broken away from the top of the Pocket or separated from the bottom and are in small pieces on the floor of it, often buried in the clay that has seeped into the Pockets over the ages. Rarely, you will find larger pieces of Drusy, these make wonderful specimens or display items. The quartz formation usually 'leaches' hardness from the dolostone, enabling an often thin layer of matrix to break away from the surrounding stone. This is one of the reasons that larger pieces are rarely found intact, of the Herkimer covered, beautiful Pocket Drusy. The colors range from brilliant clear or a very pretty silver/gray to a rarer silver clear color. Also a yellow/gold color from iron oxide that has colored the crystals and the rare, rich, lustrous black Drusy, from high concentrations of Anthraxolite while the crystals were forming. Enhydro means "water within". These are crystals that contain pockets of liquid, trapped inside the crystal during its formation. Occasionally, t is liquid with no bubble but a tiny floating inclusion, most likely a bit of Anthraxolite . If you are really lucky you just might have one that has both an air bubble AND an Anthraxolite particle moving in the Enhydro pocket. Enhydro's are very rare themselves, just to own one in your collection is quite an enhancement to it.
