The real hoppers arrived on the scene in the 1950s. LIONEL has produced a beautiful detailed STANDARD O model of this car. ALL NEW TOOLING for the PS-2 TWO BAY COVERED HOPPER was unveiled for the 2004 catalogue. And thanks to the real life smallish nature of this car… the Lionel model is a nice cross over piece = THESE HOPPERS LOOK GREAT with O GAUGE as well as with STANDARD O . The cars measures 10 inches long and operate nicely on O31 radius and wider. During 2003-4 Lionel offered seven different hoppers. (a single car for each road).
