This is the fabulous #271 pattern made by Haviland & Co in France prior to 1931. The pattern is becoming a rare one and as it is one of the nicest they made it is becoming increasingly collectable. The plate is just under 9.75 inches in diameter, and features a central cluster of pink and blue flowers.The same pink roses are swagged around the rim of the plate, where tiny blue flowers are contained within a double rim of gold. The shape of the plate is scalloped, making it a fabulous item.The back marks are the green underglaze Haviland France which is listed in the Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges as marks 12 and the red overglaze Haviland & Co Limoges which is mark 13. This dates the plate to pre 1931. I am listing other items in this pattern, and have taken one photograph to represent all the plates of the same size. I bought my collection from different sources and so there may be slight variations in colour. Condition: As is usual in porcelain of this age, there may be some factory dots and glazing skips, but nothing which detracts from the beauty of the item. There are no cracks, chips or crazing. The gold is in good condition. There are however some small utensil marks but you have to really look for them. I find most sellers don't even mention these.
