This stately 27 1/2" Signed Solid Crystal Waterford Table Lamp with Custom Waterford Shade in the ever popular Lismore Pattern is absolutely stunning! What makes it rare and exceptional is that it can not be purchased anyw else since it was awarded or presented as a symbol of excellence to a professional golfer by the PGA and subsequently, has the PGA symbol of excellence engraved into the crystal on the front of the lamp. If you look closely, you will see that t is a subtle frosted medallion insignia on the front, center. The etched wording reads, " Professional Golfers' Association of America ". The Professional Golf Association is of course, more commonly referred to as the PGA. In addition to the wording, the insignia includes what must be the PGA's trademark, two golf clubs crossed in the center . Just below is the date 1916 that I assume is to commemorate the year the PGA was founded. Provenance Unfortunately, the terms of the consignment prohibits me to divulge the name of the professional golfer that was awarded this lamp to enhance the sale price. However, it may be possible to provide verification of this information to the winning bidder only. The golf afficianodos may be able to accurately deduce who this PGA golfer is based on the physical location of this item. As some national golf fans may have already noticed, my store is located in the same small town w the CVS charity classic professional golf tournament is hosted annually by Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington. This tournament is literally a mile from my antique and consignment store. If you have attended, watched the televised tournament or are extremely knowledgeable about golf, then I guarantee that you may already accurately guessed. If not, a quick search will reveal which PGA golfers originate and/or reside in Barrington or neighboring Rhode Island towns. Detailed Item Description To be honest, this is the perfect piece of sports memoralbia to add to your home decor if your spouse typically does not want sports related items openly displayed. The insignia is subtle and elegant . The high quality cut Waterford crystal is the definitely the focal point! If you are not familiar with Waterford Crystal patterns, I want to assure you that this is one of their signature cut crystal designs referred to as the Lismore pattern . Most people see this particular arrangement of miter, fan and diamond type cutting and instantly recognize it is Waterford. In addition, I wanted to bring your attention to another fine detailing feature of this lamp along the outer edge of the base. As you can see, t are sweeping scallops or drapes cut into the circumference. If you already have Waterford Crystal lamps, then you know how spectacular they look when the light refracts off of the crystal and casts a brillaint array of sparkling colors. All of these deep cuts provide additional reflection points that ultimately create a rainbow of colors . When you buy Waterford, you know you are getting the finest crystal available. The base, fittings, harp and other metal components are gold-tone. As you can see in one of the photos, the top of the harp has the impressed Waterford & impressed Wedgwood mark. In addition, the Waterford name label is sewn into the inner lining of the shade . The fabric and detailing of this shade are exceptional. Moreover, this particular shade is custom designed for this particular lamp by Waterford designers so t is no need to worry whether or not you have the best possible shade for this lamp.
