The Holy Bible containing the Old Testament and the New: Newly translated out of the Original Tongues. And With the former Translations diligently compar'd & revis'd. By His Ma special Comand Appointed to be read in Churches London : Printed by the assigns of Thomas Newcomb, and Henry Hills, deceas'd, Printers to the Queens most Excellent Majesty, 1710 -----0----- A rare and important set of heavily illustrated early 1700s KJV Bibles , presented in their original fine stamped leather bindings, complete with (albiet faded) extensive gilt ornamentations, raised bands to the spines, red ruled pages and 100s upon 100s of illustrated engravings throughout. Leather is well rubbed with some shelfwear, stains and aging, as shown, faded a bit with age but still nicely designed. The pages are red ruled with countless one and two page engravings, as shown. Marbled EPs, gilt page edges. Many pages sadly lacking, including main title; NT title remains present however, dated 1710, as shown. Bible is appended with Psalms of David, also as shown. Each Bible measures roughly 8" x 5" x 1.75" . Sols as is- not paginated [vol I begins with two sets of engravings and text starts on Genesis V (a4), ends with Proverbs XXVI (rr2); vol II begins with Isaiah X (leaf ss6), finished with Revelation, begins new signatures and pagination with Psalms, and ends
