I have been building damascus for the last five years, and just thought I would build this as a change of pace. Although this is inspired from the KMG that is so popular, this one has been scaled down by one fourth, but is still more than adequate in size for knife grinding. I have run it and everything works perfectly. It tracks really well. The three step pully set up allows 3400, 1800, and 900 rpm. I ran this with a horse and a half motor, and t was no way that I could stall it on any of the rpm's. The tool rest is designed so that you can get above and below center of the contact wheel. You can set any degree with the tool rest as it rotates 360 degrees. The slack belt and platen attachment only has two inch contact wheels at this time, but larger wheels can be purchased from Beaumont ( ) and they will fit right on to this attachment. T is no motor with this. The motor mount is removable so that you can install the motor under the bench. The grinder base plate measures six inches wide by eighteen inches long so it will have a small foot print on the bench. Please e-mail with any further questions. NO PAY PAL ON THIS AUCTION.
