Greetings, Up for auction from old private collection is this Fluted clovis arrowhead found in the late 1950's in Lake Mason south of Oxford, Wi. I had several heads examined by an expert at a bottle club meeting in Madison. The gentleman has over 25+ years in the hobby. He checked it through his microscope. Out of the 20+ heads he looked at only 3 passed his test for 100% authentic. This is one of the three. He said the others looked washed or cleaned and he wasnt sure. This one he was sure of. I will give a 30 day return if not satisfied, and pay any charges that it cost to get authenticated if its not real. I am certain 100% its authentic. I would need all paperwork ofcourse. This head Measures aprox 3 1/2" long. Nice concave back with 3/4 channeled favoring the right side. Full fair patina throughout even on edges. Unsure of stone. The stone is reddish brown with hints of white spotting.Might be knife river flint. Looks as though the front was dulled through hunting. Some of the residue on the fluted part is left over sticky from old masking tape w it was marked with date and location. I could remove it, but I dont want to touch it. All in all a real nice gem. I have listed arrowheads that sold for $800.00 on ungraded, and recieved excellent feedback. A month ago I listed a bunch together and had so many questions I decided to get them checked out, and list them one by one. The best authentic ones ofcourse. Pics should sum the rest up.
