This is a RARE Carcharodon carcharias, better known as the GREAT WHITE SHARK Tooth Fossil from Peru, South America. This Great White Shark tooth fossil measures 2-3/16 inches long which is a large size for this species! Excellent Color!!! KILLER SHAPE!!! Very Nice Tooth! Impressive size! Peruvian fossils are getting nearly impossible to obtain these days! This one has been worn smooth from all of the desert sand over the years but the color is definitely unique to Peru! This one is all natural with no repair . VERY RARE COLOR!This Great White Shark tooth fossil was found in a desert, on dry land in Ica, Peru, South America. Many people do not realize that most of the shark fossils from Peru are found in dry, arid desert conditions. This is due to the fact that millions of years ago this desert was once the sea floor. This Great White Shark tooth was covered by sand and silt from the ocean's tidal action where it laid still for millions of years and became fossilized. This Great White Shark tooth literally turned to stone! Over time the ocean receded creating the desert where millions of years of wind and rain has washed away the fossil layers exposing these magnificent fossil shark teeth.
