Just a note on the 3 Burner Model. This is a forging powerhouse, for professional use only! Do not confuse this with the dense lined Hobby Forges from Ohio. These are way more Forge than most production shops need. This is a super efficient, VERY VERY HOT production unit giving you VERY FAST heats of 18" long. See my other listings for all available Forges... These are the newest Forges from Diamondback Ironworks. The designs have been completely overhauled. Bigger Fireboxes, better quality Insulation and a new Shell Designs, all in an effort to make them more user friendly. I have worked professionally (see the Gallery on my website...) with Forges from Forgemaster, and Mankel, and have used the NC Tool Co. Forges as well, the Mankels were disappointing, but the others were good units, but had issues I felt needed to be addressed. When it was time for me to purchase a new Forge, I couldn't justify the $700+ Price tag for something I felt could be built better so, off to the drawing board... The results you see today are the result of 4 years of designing, developing and refining. I can honestly say these units outperform anything I had used before, and I am Proud to be able to offer them to you at such a reasonable price. T is something I feel must be said. Ebay has been flooded with junk import forges and US made forges constructed with cheap ceramic brick. I understand the fact that people like to save money. I hope my customers understand the fact that Diamondback Ironworks Forges were designed and built to out perform the best US made Commercial forges. If they think they are getting the same level of Quality and Performance from the Import or Brick Forges, don't be mistaken. These will heat MUCH faster and use 1/3 the amount of fuel as the Brick Forges because of the State of the Art Ceramic insulations used in these units. Unfortunately, those materials are expensive and t really is no way to get around that fact. If you want quality of this level, you simply can not get it for $225. For that price what you'll get is a $225 forge. The problem is, sellers would lead you to believe that those firebrick forges perform as well as these. T really is nothing I can do when sellers are willing to misrepresent their products for a sale, but anyone in the industry understands the performance characteristics of these refractory materials. The seller even goes as far as to claim his material is "steel mill furnace liner" and not firebrick. I'm sorry, but no company manufacturers a specific "steel mill furnace liner", in fact, what he is using is 3200 degree dense ceramic firebrick splits. Those are the industry standard for steel mill lining materials. The dense firebrick is used as a "hot face" in the furnaces to protect the ceramic insulation (fiber blanket or board) which is used to insulate the vessels. The brick itself has a very high thermal conductivity, meaning heat readily passes through it. The purpose of the dense brick is to protect the real ceramic insulation from the harsh environment and molten metal in the furnaces. Because the poor performance of dense firebrick is an established and well know fact, he chooses to use misleading terminology, but the fact remains, Dense ceramic is not and insulator and should only be used on the floors because of it's ability to resist mechanical wear and welding flux. Ask yourself this, why would he insist that dense firebrick is not dense firebrick? Does he know dense firebrick is a horrible insulator, and is afraid other people know that as well? Whatever the reason, deception is deception, and if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, I'm damn well gonna call it a duck! I welcome honest competition, it is what pushes the design envelope and inspires innovation .
