Three Harris Strong Ceramic Art Tiles Mid-century modern wall art in the Eames tradition The Fruits of Summer These are unusual tiles not seen up for auction often!! Perfect for the collector OR the decorator! Set of three stunning 6"x6" tiles in rich reds, oranges and yellows on a background of deep browns and black with accents of green. The tiles are FLAWLESS - no crazing, no cracks with a beautiful finish and simple modern lines. The substantial 13"x13" frames are wood but a bit more traditional than typical Strong works. The wood is ribbed and has a very light antiquing applied which gives the frames a very slight metallic finish. Each piece weighs a bit over 2.5lbs. Combined with the matte golden velvet mat, these are a wonderful bridge of modern and traditional. The frames are in excellent condition except for a groove in the bottom of the frame around the cherries. These have hung in my dining room for a number of years and no one has ever noticed the flaw. The matting is in good condition with some threading at the corner on two. The hangers are all the distinctive Harris Strong heart shaped hardware. All of the backs are marked Group H and all have the yellow sticker mark but only one actually has the sticker still attached.
