I have been told by everyone that I am nuts!! This is the coolest thing, and it gives me the shivers when I pick it up,to think just maybe this could have saved someones life. I have seen many vintage Life Rings but nothing like this one. VERY Unique R.M.S TITANIC White Star OK here is what I have been told. This Lifering washed up ashore in New England back in 1915 or 1916 and the gentlemen ( I will have to ask my mother ) Gave it to his niece Carrie Toomer who had just bought and moved into The Belleair Cottage in Wrightsville Beach NC.. it hung in or on the Cottage / Hotel for at least 50 years. I wish I knew more about her of if she knew someone on the Titanic, The timing would be correct. We think that the red was painted on it during that time, I wonder for love, for blood or just because she liked red??? I wish I knew. My Grand parents bought an estate with contents, and this was in the basement upside down and they thought nothing of it, and again it sat untouched for another 20 years, and the paper that is so fragile was folded up and stuck into the center under the painted red canvas / tape?? I have no idea what it says or means.......... Sorry way before my time. WELL now it is mine and I am tired of everyone wanting to touch it and or buy it.
