Item offered is a single 30mm aircraft cannon round - display condition - perhaps 1970s vintage. I can't tell production date as t is no headstamp markings on the case and the inked markings don't supply much data either. What you see in the picture series is what you get. This is INERT ORDANCE, meaning that this is NOT a live round and it can't be used for its original purpose. Primer has been fired. Projectile is new stock and has not been through a cannon barrel as t are no markings on the copper rifling band. Both shell casing and projectile fit together with a loose slip fit. Projectile is of a one-piece design and does not disassemble further. Shell casing - though in this picture series appears to be brass - is actually aluminum. T are no stray holes or cuts in the casing. It's marked with the following data with ink on one side of the casing: "7400730-1 ACN92A007-021 30MM RSU XXX 13309-7400 XXX AJD XXX." The "Xs" I have used after the data are not legible. The projectile is marked with the following: "HVM-15-4455 30MM T328." It's a nice display piece for an ord collector. Pretty imposing looking on the shelf - it's about 10" in height. Probably for one of the General Electric chain cannons as used on a variety of airframes of this era. Questions? Please ask seller. And thanks for looking! More than just a pretty picture.
