Art Deco Machine Age Bauhaus PATINATED BRONZE Zodiac signs mantel desk clock Holland, c.1930s This is an amazing and extraordinary high quality mantel desk clock designed and handcrafted by artist Johannes Bosma, perfect for any Art Deco or antique clock enthousiast offered from my own collection! Manufactured in Holland around the 1930s at the peak of the Art Deco Machine Age era, only very few have survived in this beautiful all original and fully functional condition ( nothing missing, damaged or broken, only some very minor signs of use, considered normal for a period piece! ). Featured in the important Art Deco clock collecting books, this is one of the rarest deskclocks you will ever find ( the German equivalent manufactured by Kienzle is far more common and industrial made! ). This stunning piece is entirely handcrafted by the famous Dutch artist Johannes Bosma around 1930. The case is made out of cast bronze and beautifully patinated, the raised Zodiac signs are nicely detailed. The high quality balancewheel movement from AWU Rotterdam,Holland runs about 8 days fully wound ( one of the most Avant Garde clock manufacturers from the Art Deco period ) has been cleaned,oiled and inspected by a master clockmaker for many years of joy and perfect timekeeping! It`s just impossible to capture the true beauty in pictures, you will see that this clock is so much nicer in real when you win my auction.
