TREASURE HOUSE... Take a look inside the world of a little girl from the 1930's. Purchased this dollhouse several years ago from a woman who would now be in her 80's. It was made by her grandfather in the style of the house w the little girl lived. Note the house numbers on the base. According to the woman, the windows are covered with isinglass (isinglas) which is a substance similar to mica. See photo #4. This dollhouse has wonderful natural crazing of the very period colors- mustard yellow, dark red, and green. Has never been repainted or repaired. It has four simple rooms, one with a wooden fireplace. It measures 28" tall, 19" wide, and 17" deep. For condition issues, please see photos- #2 shows small pieces missing from the little peaked roof in the front, plus a break/missing piece of thin moulding just below that. #3 shows some cracking of the wood on the back right of the roof. T are also a few chips and dings and t Would guess looking at the wood, and knowing that it came from Portland, OR that it might be pine or fir. Am listing this for local pick-up only. If you would like to consider having it shipped to you, please make inquiries BEFORE bidding. It will be expensive...the box alone may cost up to $28 per UPS. Please email questions, and I'll be happy to answer them to the best of my ability.
