This auction is for all the marbles! These, we believe, are old marbles from the early 1950's or before. My Mother in Law was an antique dealer. She didn't throw anything away so these would have been some of my husband's marbles and possibly some of his father's from Germany. Some are probably much older than the early 50's. Some may be newer that she might have picked up when she went to garage sales. We tried to make sense of marble history and can see it takes much study and hands on experience to know what kind of marbles we have. We think we have Akro agates but we aren't sure. There are several marbles that feel like they might be quartz, or something other than glass. There are some clay marbles. Some marbles have chips and pits because if they were my husband's in the late 40's and early 50's, they were used to play marble games. Most of the marbles are about 1/2 inch in diameter and there are some shooters. There a few small marbles too. There is one that is pointed. Some feel perfect.
