If you are a Griswold collector and have yet to find a decent Pie Oven, now is your chance. These ovens, while not exactly rare, are hard to find that are in decent condition. Made of sheet metal, that has been painted with enamel, the heat usually peels off the paint and it starts to rust. Most that I have seen have a dent or two or the glass window is cracked or missing. This particular oven has no dents whatsoever and the glass is original and perfect. Like the others I have seen, it did have large spots of surface rust where the paint was missing. I have cleaned off much of the rust and blackened the rest in order to make it look presentable. This piece could easily be restored to near its original condition. It was produced in the 1930's and measures 11 x 12 x 10 3/4" deep. The weight is close to 6 pounds. The P/N is # 355 and it has the Griswold block logo. Inside there are two racks. One is adjustable. The bottom has an opening to fit over the burner. The door operates in the normal fashion with a latch to keep it closed. This has the makings of a real fine piece with just a bit of refinishing.
