TANZANITE
Locality: Merelani Mining District Tanzania Weight: 38.67 Measurements: 29.4mm x 11.8mm x 9.5mm (Appx 1.0 Inches) Tanzanite is a stone that is very unique in so many different ways. First off, Tanzanite technically more rare than Diamond. Tanzanite is found in only 1 place in the entire world; the Merelani Minig District of Tanzania. First discovered by the locals in 1967, Tanzanite has not been on the market for a long time. The locals started finding these different colored crystals all over the surface. They noticed that many stones would show different colors when you changed the viewing angle. From Red, to green, to yellow, to purple, to blue. Some pieces even contained all of the different colors in equal amounts and these stones appeared brown/yellow. This is an effect called pleochroism. Also, they noticed that some of the crystals they were finding had turned a deep blue to violet color due to their vicinity to a nearby volcano. So now, they heat the lower quality crystals in order to achieve a more attractive and more marketable color. These crystals that I am offering are NATURAL. This is exactly how they came out of the ground, and HAVE NOT BEEN HEATED. All of the crystals that I am listing were hand dug by the local population, as most all of the crystal specimens that came out of Tanzania the same way. Now, since the popularity of Tanzanite has risen drastically, almost all of the crystal specimens are being shipped directly to the cutting centers and it is getting tougher and tougher to find good crystal material. This is a sad situation but one that we have to unfortunately deal with. I bought these crystals direct from the source and I guarantee the satisfaction of any of them. I will offer a full refund, valid from 10 days of purchase, if not 100% satisfied! An extremely gemmy crystal, this is sure to brighten up any display cabinet! This piece is perfectly terminated and has extremely sharp facet junctions. Also has a very high shine to the faces, not like most other specimens which can be dull and "watery" in appearance. Displays a deep blue color face-on and a deep, reddish purple color along the thicker axis. Shows perfect pleochroism. By far the best crystal I have seen in a while. Would cut a very nice stone, but there is no need! This crystal speaks for itself. There is no dmaage to this piece. It is truly a one-of-a-kind collector piece. Dont miss out on the opportunity to pick up this nice crystal. There is no telling how much longer this material will be available for an affordable price. I will consider all reasonable offers. I will ship out to you USPS Registered Mail free of charge to the winning bidder. This type of mail has to be stamped all over and be signed for by every person that handles it. It is the safest, most secure way to send valuable merchandise. If you have any more questions then feel free to ask me! I am also available by phone 828-963-GEMS(4367) from 10:00-5:00est. Monday-Friday Ask for Luke!! I will be more than happy to answer any other questions you may have. *All pictures taken in daylight equivalent and incandescent lighting to show all of the possibilities of color.
