For your consideration is this; Beautiful Civil War Era Antique Tatted Silk Lace! We are calling this lace tatted because it resembles that more than the bobbin examples we have looked at. Still, we're not certain. The threads do feel like silk. We are learning that lace is an unbounded area w much knowledge is needed. We are intending to stay in the realm of pure unadulterated awe! This particular piece measures 38" long x 4.75" wide. The detail between the flowers is so fine that you need at least a 7X loupe to view it properly. It's simply amazing! If t are any flaws in this lace we are unable to locate them! It's absolutely Perfect! This item has been stored in a box for over 100 years, so a cleaning is in order, or not. We have not been foolish enough to attempt it! It's amazing that this beautiful lace has made it through time in this great condition! This Rare French Lace is certain to make a fine extension to any Antique Textile Collection! We have many more Rare Lace auctions up now from the same Estate!
