This auction is for a beautiful crystal cluster of iridescent "Rainbow" Andradite Garnet from Japan. A great addition to a serious collection of Garnet species, or any collection!

Andradite Garnet , the calcium-iron variety of Garnet, has a formula of Ca 3Fe 2Si 3O 12 . It is named for J.B. de Andrada e Silva (1763-1838), a Brazilian geologist. Andradite garnets are sometimes used as industrially as abrasives.
