~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ INSTANT WALL DISPLAY SET OF FOUR DIFFERENT, VARIED SIZE PLATES VINTAGE BROWN POLYCHROME ENGLISH TRANSFERWARE PLATES ~~~~~~~~~~~~ For consideration is this wonderful set of four vintage English transferware plates in graduated sizes. Each is from the same maker and is the same pattern. Each plate has a different rural English scene. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The largest plate depicts a woman pumping water at the village well. She is talking to a man andher dog waits in the door behind her. A beautiful steeple from the town Church stands high in the background. Plate two depicts another village scene w a man sits on the bench outside of the Swan Inn. A woman stands in her doorway at the Tudor Cottage in the background. Plate three depicts a boy and his father on the rock bridge. the boy is sitting on the ledge looking down at the boat below. Smoke billows out of the chimney from the Thatched cottage in the background. The last plate depicts a woman dressed in period clothing and a bonnett, with her dog, sitting on the banks edge watching a pair of ducks swim by. The church and some shops can be seen in the village behind her. All of the plates have a stunning border of flowers, acorns and scrollwork. The plates are all brown transferware with highlights handpainted in green, red, blue and gold.
