You are bidding on a rare find....four large and gorgeous drapery panels of rich, red woven floral satiny damask draperies. This circa 1940`s fabric is stunning...the red is so luscious and vivid and depending on the angel viewed, changes shades....as I hope you can se in some of the photos. The background is shiny, like a satin with darker red woven "eyelash swirls" and graceful "old ivory" colored woven orchid flowers. T are four flat panels. All panel have an approximate 6" hand stitched flat hem on each end. Three panels measures 46" wide by approximately 16' 6" long. One panel measures the same 46" wide by approximately 18' long. The pattern repeat is 23" and it is a straight across match. These draperies were used but are in well cared for condition. They were found in a cedar chest so smell like linens smell after being stored for years and years in a cedar chest. T are no stains or rips to the fabric. T are two areas, that we see, with tiny pulls to the weaving....I have shown one in the 2 last photos....nothing major or distracting. These blemishes may have been from a straight pin found in the drapes but regardless, they are barely worth mentioning... however t It`s so difficult to find these draperies anymore and to find such large panels and this much fabric is rare indeed...don`t miss out on adding these to your period restoration project. ~~~PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE PLACING ANY BID.
