ItemDetails Description Worm gear Positive Traction drive axle good for Quarter Scale RC. This was a drive axle for a self propelled lawn mower. Designed to push a 100 lb lawn mower, so it is strong enough to take the abuse of any Quarter Scale build you have in mind. Make a great drive axle for any Quarter Scale fiberglass bodies. Positive Traction means both axle drive all the time, so it is easy to do donuts if you have engine enough. High speed needle bearing on input shaft, bronze bearing on axle shafts. Housing is ribbed for more strength and better cooling. Ratio approximately 3.25:1, steel axles. Use in Ford Coupe, Dragsters, Hot Rods, Stadium Trucks, Custom Builds. Pictures show rotation of input shaft in relation to axles. It is a great axle for most Quarter Scale because it looks real and last a long time. The axles are 1/2" diameter, one side longer than the other with an overall length of roughly 19-1/2". To properly fit in a quarter scale vehicle, cut the axles to proper length for the build. Machining the axle diameter down on a metal lathe to 1/4" will make the axle easier to mount and more realistic. Use miniature pillow block bearings on the outer axle by the tires, turn hubs to match the wheels you are using.
