4 EXQUISITE VINTAGE HAND-PAINTED * SIGNED * LIMOGES DINNER PLATES Rare to find these available - very few were made (@ 1920-1930s). This particular pattern is made by C. Ahrenfeldt for the Cowell & Hubbard Co. of Cleveland, Ohio. T is a heavy gilt band to the inner rim as well as a raised (hand-painted) banding, gilt scroll motif to the exterior rim. A striking color band of azure / turquoise blue surrounds the inner rim; hand-painted flowers are in the center of the plate. Verso marked with insignia mark = "C.A France Depose * Ahrenfeldt pour Limoges The Cowell & Hubbard Co. Cleveland, O. [Ohio] * Patented". In excellent MINT (museum quality) condition. Let my photographs provide the rest of the description. ADDED DESCRIPTION POST LISTING Gorgeous set of four early 20th century Limoges service plates made by the Paris firm of A. Ahrenfeldt, factory founded in 1894. These plates were painted and signed by their master painter, Francois Mireilly (reference my photo on this and look to the large blue flower to the right in black script Mireilly ). They feature a robin egg blue ground with raised gilt seaweed patterned border, an inner gilt band frames a beautiful bouquet of flowers. All four are in mint condition; size 10 1/4" Diameter.
