4 VOL LEATHER BOUND LIFE OF WM PITT BY STANHOPE 1869

Presented is a four volume set of Life of the Right Honourable William Pitt by Earl Stanhope. The 3/4 leather bound books have a marbled design on the covers and the edges of the pages. The corners and bindings are done in red leather with gilded raised ribs on the bindings. The bindings are elegantly gilded with the title, author, volume number, and neat scrolling designs. Two of the volumes each have a different engraving of William Pitt opposite the title page. The books were published by W. Clowes & Sons of London and are dated 1869.

The books are in great condition. T is some wear to the leather on the bindings and the corners, but this is quite minor. The gilding is completely intact, and all the bindings are perfectly readable. The pages are not loose, ripped or stained. T are no breaks and no repairs.

The books measure 5 inches by 7 3/4 inches.
