400 WWII Love Letters USAAF Sgt, 81st Fighter Group Search Description You are bidding on an incredible grouping of over 400 letters and papers from George Hunt of the 93rd Fighter Squadron, 81st fighter group who served from 1941 -1945. His rank changes from Private to Corporal to Staff Sergeant in that time. T are 64 letters from 1941, 163 from 1942, 66 from 1943, 94 from 1944 & 4 from 1945. This is truly an incredible grouping. I'm not anxious to sell this one, to tell the truth, as I feel that t's a lot of information that could be used for research or writing. Once overseas, he supported the invasions in North Africa and Sicily, then was relocated to the CBI theater for service in India and China. Vmails are also included, at least one of which is a preprinted Christmas message. Some are also included before they were shrunken down. All of these are intact with original envelopes and the STAMPS are still on them, t are a lot of great aircraft and other war stamps on these. He was trained at Kessler Field and t are 4 Kessler field newspapers included, plus 7 post cards from sightseeing and Army humor. T are approx. 20 pcs. of misc. papers including pay and savings documents from his girlfriend at the time who later became his wife, she worked at the GM - Packard Electric plant.
