Luxurious burgundy rayon velvet 40's vintage dress is perfect for holiday parties. Surplice wrap bodice has shoulder padding, 3/4 sleeves with gathering at shoulders and shirring at elbow area. Shoulder seams and waistband have smocking and gathers. Skirt falls straight from the waistline and has a faux wrap look with an attached drapey swag up the side. Original matching velvet belt accompanies the dress. Side metal zipper for closure. Original Filene's Basement tag it still attached. I just found out they've been in business since 1908! Who knew?Measurements-bust 48", waist 36", hips 50, shoulder to waist 17", waist to hem 27 1/2". Never worn new/old stock. There is a teeny little fray a couple of inches down from the right shoulder seam(pictured).
