This is a wonderful '40s navy blue straw hat with a wide brim and an open crown--the inside circumference measures 20"--suitable for a SMALLER head size. The brim at the front is 5" wide. The label:Marshall FIeld and Company. Condition: The hat's in good vintage condition--has a few issues related to age and wear: the taffeta band and bow have all over fading--navy fades to purple, the brim and crown are each just a bit uneven from storage and t's a small flaw in the straw--brim area. T's also a bit of light discoloration on the INNER grosgrain band and the overall color of the hat is not quite as dark as it was when originally made. Overall a great summer hat of the '40s--from one of the world's finest department stores--it's clean and ready to wear.
