I purchased this huge lot of photos from the Portland Oregon Antique Expo this weekend there are so many intriguing ones in this lot. There are a total of 410+ photos. They date from early 1900’s into WWII however there are a few from the 1800’s. In fact there are several photos of Japan during this time I believe; although I am no expert. One of the photos of Japan shows the front of a house and on the back it says, “View of our house Kyoto , Honshu , Japan . Sept. 1947 .” I’ve scanned several of those above. They seem to all be from the same family line and the common name I found was Jones and Kearney . There is one early original CDV and then a copy was also made of this photo. On the back of the copy it says “James Wilbur Jones born June 16, 1862, Died January 15, 1906.” The family was from St. Cloud Minnesota (where the cdv photo was taken as there is a photographer ad on the back) and then they moved to Washington Territory to the city of Seattle . James married Amanda Louis Hoth on April 14 th , 1892 in St. Cloud so they must have moved west shortly after that. They had two daughters, Reva R. and Myrtle J. Both girls are in many of the photos.
