Do You Prefer Your Art "Rare" or Medium-Well?... Folks, This is One of Lladro's Finest, Superior, and Rare Collector's Figurines Entitled "Don Quixote and The Windmill" , Being Sold Today (No reserve price on this ebay item!). One of Only a VERY SMALL Art Collection EVER Created in the Entire World, This Piece is Virtually Priceless... 21.25" in height x 10.75" in width 12.0" in diameter (base of figurine) 10 lbs total approximate weight of piece Lladro item # 1497 The original sculpture of Don Quixote and the Windmill , was the famous Salvatore Furio. Subsequently, Furio's sculpture was reproduced only a SMALL number of times in 1986 through Lladro...which is what makes it so difficult to find anyw in the world (this tiny amount of Lladro pieces has never been disclosed to anyone by Lladro, to our knowledge). This piece, tfore, is one of a very limited edition which has been retired since 1996. The pictures speak for themselves, as you view each and every fine detail created, featuring Don Quixote proudly displayed on his horse with his lance in the right hand and shield in the left hand - - - all delicately designed completely in gleaming porcelain. If one were to find one of these pieces in its original box (depending upon its condition), its value is within a range of approximately $2900-$4300. This piece is in excellent condition, and has been stored away for over five years. While we do not have the original box, we've maintained excellent care of this item, and t are absolutely NO scratches or gouges. However, because of the delicate nature of this piece, t was some minor breakage during shipping, which is why we strongly encourage those who are residing in or travelling through the New England area, to purchase it (rather than other regions of the United States). Local pick-up would assist greatly in avoiding further breakage through commercial shipping. (Note: Some restoration has already been completed regarding a break from the back of the arm/shoulder area, to w it connects to the sail. These restorations are not easily detected unless one were to turn the piece and look closely at the side view, toward the rear of the figurine. See final picture within my ebay picture gallary to see the section of which I am referencing). The ONLY defects are as follows: The lance and hand are cleanly broken off (see pictures). Please note that these are CLEAN breaks, which have been estimated for repair at Lladro specialty restoration shops for a range of approximately $250-$500.
