Offered for auction is a 45º-135ºcrossover for American Flyer S gauge trains. This is not an original American Flyer crossover, nor is it a reproduction of any known Gilbert accessory. This is trademarked TM Aff. This 45º-135º crossover is intended to look like what Gilbert would have made if it had ever done so. I made it with raised ties and track guides just like the original crossover. The center “frog” is basically the same design as the original but instead of 90º it is angled at 45º and 135º. The prototype was made with basically hand tools. While it is well made, it is not perfect. You can see sanding marks and glue spots, and the plastic joints (picture). It has a longer dead spot than the regular 90º. I have tested the prototype a couple of times and it operates well. This is intended for the operator, since it is not a collectable made by Gilbert. It can be used in a figure 8 (picture 8) and use this with 10 curves and 1 half-curve on each side with partial straights. Look
