This is a group of 36 sterling Presidential Medals that was sold in the 1970's by the Wittnauer Precious Metals Guild as their Signature Series. The medals feature a high relief image and signature of every president from George Washington to Richard Nixon. They measure 40 mm in diameter and average about 1 ¼ ounce each with some coins weighing more or less depending on the artistic rendering. Each medal is marked STERLING with the Wittnauer Mint mark of a W inside a circle and a number for the set and are flashed in gold. The total weight of all medals is 44.55 ounces or 2.78 pounds of .925 sterling silver. That equals approximately 41.2 ounces pure .999 fine silver. They have been housed in this walnut display for at least 35 years and are in good condition. The complete set in the walnut case with plastic cover weighs a little over 7 pounds. I will gladly ship the medals only to save shipping costs. Shipping without wooden case is $4.99
