See the scans. This is a 45th Infantry United States Volunteers regimental member's medal. The obverse has the legend "PHILIPPINE SERVICE 45th INF. U.S.V. 1898-1900-1901," etc. with crossed rifles and a target at the center. The reverse, which I am too lazy to type in it's entirety, has a long list of battles and engagements with their dates. This is 1 1/2" diameter in size. This belonged to William Emil Hamerstrom, who served with the 45th U.S. Volunteer Infantry in the Philippines. He was born of Swedish parents in Illinois on June 18, 1879. Generally fine condition, but missing the suspension loop and top assembly, as you can see. Some edge roughness, may have been cleaned, let the scans be your guide. A very scarce regimental medal - I hae had only three in 35 years. I will be listing more of Hamerstron's medals tonight. NOTE: I am very good about getting my orders out promptly, sometimes same day and almost always within 24 hours. However, lately the U.S. postal "service" has been very spotty. In the last several months, I have had first class insured items take over a month to California and two weeks in New York State. Most are delivered in a timely fashion, but a few are not.
