Fellow Treasure hunters we were recently in a wonderful house containing many fabulous treasures and discovered this handsome set of Gorham sterling silver flatware in the Melrose pattern, 1948. It comes with a silver box. This is a very attractive pattern and pieces are not monogrammed. This set is unusual in that it contains the larger dinner knives and forks and all the pieces are quite heavy. The set consists of eight 9 1/2 inch dinner knives, eight 7 3/4 inch dinner forks, eight 6 1/2 inch salad forks, eight round 6 1/4 inch soup spoons, nine 5 7/8 inch teaspoons, two 8 1/2 inch serving spoons, a 6 inch sugar spoon, an 8 inch cold meat fork and a 6 1/2 inch gravy ladle. This is a magnificent set, with no monogram and it is in excellent condition. Any white spots are a result of the flash. Thank you for visiting our site.
