Helmet in relic condition, no sweat band, missing several inches from front visor, cracks, moth holes, horse hair plume all but gone, cavalry side buttons not matched pair, plume socket base may be a replacement. Helmet body might be restorable by someone with the right expertise. Now the good news, beautiful two piece officer M1881 helmet plate with silver numeral four (4) affixed, officer gold braid helmet cords with all appropriate shield and hook hangers.
