For your consideration is an amaziing lot of five large 8 x 8 to 8 x 10 inch photographs of British and Scottish forces fighting on the German front. Several of the images are exceptional, including an amazing photo of a Sherman tank fitted with flails crossing a makeshift Bailey bridge at Elbeuf, with a sunken ship in the foreground. T is also a great photo of the British 7th Armoured Division massed at Brunen, a nice (and rare) photo of soldiers of the Lowland Scottish 52nd entering Bremen, of tank crews of the British 6th Guards at Dulmen and one of Royal Artillery signallers in a foxhole near the river Garigliano. Each photo comes with a descriptive paper affixed to back, which describes the photo in detail (see photos below). Great lot!These are real, original 'British Official Photos' snapped and developed during the war, not later reproductions. They were formerly in the collection of long-defunct Washington D.C. newspaper, theWashington Evening Star. The gentleman Ibought them from worked at the newspaper and saved these from the trash when the paper decided to clean house some years after the war.
