A beautiful, rare matching set of 4 large scent, square, perfume bottles and 1 dresser jar. (We are also listing a matching hand mirror). Made of cut crystal with sterling silver collars and lids. T is a cut star at the bottom and at each side is a garland with leaves. All the lids are hallmarked with the "hermes" head and a 1 (950/000 solid silver, pic.9), a (patent?) number and the makers mark VB and 2 stars in a lozenge. All four bottles have a glass (crystal?) stopper. The lids of the bottles show remains of gilt at the inside. This set is made at the last quarter of the 1800's. Condition is excellent for items this age, except: all 5 pieces have some tiny, flea bite chips, one has a larger one (pic. 10), but hardly noticeable, three stoppers have tiny chips at the end, three bottles are cloudy at the inside, (could use a clean). The silver lid of the large bottle has 2 flea bite dents on top and 3 at the rim. the lid of the dresser jar has dents at the rim. All 5 pieces show surface scratches underneath the base. Measurements approx.: Large bottle: high: 7" or 18 cm, at the base:3.1/4 x 3.1/4" or 8 x 8 cm. Smallest bottle:high: almost 5" or 12,5 cm, at the base 2.1/4 x 2.1/4" or 6 x 6 cm. the dresser jar: high: 4" or 10 cm, diameter 3" or 7,5 cm. All incl. the lid. Weight approx.: 2250 grams.
