Up for bids is a very fine piece of Redware Pottery. I would like to say that I know very little about ancient pottery but aquired several fine pieces of it in a collection I purchased for the other artifacts that were in it. I have collected all types of indian artifacts except pottery for over 35 years however and know enough about them to tell this is an ancient piece. This pot stands 5" tall and is 5" across. The top is 3-1/2" across with the opening about 2-1/4" across. It's in very good un-restored original condition as found somewere in the southwestern US. T was an old tag inside it that read: Southwestern US Redware pot, 1,500-2,500 years old, un-restored. It has a chip missing from the rim and 3 hairline cracks running down from the rim. The longest crack extends about 1-1/4" below the rim. The other two cracks appear to be on the rim itself. This is a solid piece of ancient pottery and is quite heavy for it's size. Still has soil deposits inside of it. I'm sure it's ancient, it has the look and feel of a very, very old piece of pottery. Take a good look at the twelve pictures I posted to see the great un-restored condition this fine piece of pottery is in. Please ask any questions you may have about this and I'll do my best to answer them for you. I listed one other piece from the same old Missouri collection and if these bring fair prices I'll consider listing more.

ALL the artifacts I list were LEGALLY obtained following all Federal and State guidelines and are either personal finds from private land with landowners permission or legally obtained from older collections. NOTHING I list is grave or cave related finds in any way!!!
