This is a post WW II vintage uniform that originally had a lower ranking officerÂ's sleeve insignia. Based on my measurements, It appears to be a size 45 Regular. The material of the uniform is 100% wool. It is in outstanding condition with no moth damage. The trousers are size 32 waist and 31 inseam with 3 extra inches in the hem. This uniform is definitely Â"Old Navy.Â" I had the original sleeve rank insignia removed and I had a tailor at a USN installation replace the rank insignia with the rank insignia of a 5-Star Fleet Admiral such as Nimitz, Leahy, King and Bill Â"BullÂ" Halsey. To the extent possible, I have added the same ribbons that Fleet Admiral Halsey wore along with his pilotÂ's wings. The ribbons include Navy Distinguished Service medal (DSM) with 2 stars to indicate that he was awarded the DSM 3 times, Army DSM, Mexican Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, WW I Victory Medal as well as several WW II campaign Medals. He also had on the bottom row some foreign nation awards that I have tried to come close to matching. The suit is still in outstanding condition in spite of its age. If the winner of the auction prefers, I can switch the Halsey ribbon rack for the other ribbon rack in the photos.
