5 Sterling Silver Souvenir Spoons WALLA WALLA WASH.

This is a set of five small sterling silver souvenir spoons from Walla Walla, Washington . All 5 spoons have Whitman Memorial College embossed in the bowl and each have different handles. The college was established by missionaries Marcus and Narcissa Whitman in 1836. They were massacred in 1847, but the college continued to develop. The scene in the bowl is the Memorial Building completed in 1899. The college has almost university status and one of the Alumni was Adam West the actor who played Batman. The handles have miners' tools and a mule; a fish,netting and a shell; grapes and apples; an Indian head with a tepee and the last has simple floral decoration. Four of the spoons represent the culture and industry in the Walla Walla area. Each measures approx. 3.5" long and they have a combined weight of 17 grams. 4 of the 5 are in excellent condition with no damage and just slight signs of use, but the spoon with the fruit handle has a tiny ding in the reverse of the bowl. On the reverse of each is the sterling silver mark and the maker's mark of Paye & Baker. Airmail postage to the U.S.A. would be $1.95 in a padded envelope, to the United Kingdom, Australia and other International destinations would be $3.95 in a padded envelope.
