Here is a killer 2 5/8" Stone Square Stem point found in Pettis Co., Missouri. The material is a well patinated, sparkling, light tan colored Silicified Sandstone material, also known as Sugar Quartz. This triangular shaped blade has slightly convex cutting edges. The strong barbs are horizontal. The stem has parallel sides and the basal edge is straight. The Silicifed Sandstone looks great wet or under glass. This blade is only 1 7/16" wide. A Stone Square Stem point is estimated to be 6,000-4,000 yrs. old and this point is graded an 8.0 by Robert Butler. This indian artifact comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, dated 03/31/11 , from Butler Authentication Services . The COA # B-2152 can be viewed in the second picture. These fully laminated, water proof and durable COA's are 8.5 inch by 11 inch. Perfect for framing!!!This point is an excellent addition to your collection. It is an authenticated indian artifact!
