TEETH DESCRIPTION Up for auction is a collection of 50 extremely high quality fossilized sharks teeth.
The teeth in this lot are in the top 5% of teeth I have collected and are suitable for museum display. These teeth have been collected in and around Lee creek/Aurora area, North Carolina, world famous for it's fossils. All these teeth are in extremely good condition for their age, most of them are smooth and shiny, some are dark in color others are light ( see photo ). The coloring of the teeth is dependent on the types of minerals they were buried in during the fossilization process. They range in size from approximately 1/4 of an inch to 1 1/4+ inches. These teeth are estimated to be 5-20 million years old and come from the Castle Hayne Pliocene and Miocene formation. The species of sharks that these teeth come from include some or all of the following: Tiger, Hammerhead, Mako, Sand Tiger, Silky, Lemon, Thresher, Bull, Dusky, Copper, Snaggletooth, Hemiprisitis, Great white and Carcharodon Megalodon. EXTRAS As extras I am including 1 fossil shark vertebra, 3 fossil dolphin teeth, 7 black fossil barracuda teeth ( Collected on the bank/shore of the cape fear river ( NC ) w it meets the ocean, estimated to be 5 - 20 million years old and from the same time period as the Lee creek teeth above ) 7 nice fossil Shells and 9 high quality fossil Ray teeth ( several species ). Shark vertebra, Ray teeth and shells are collected from the same fossil layer as sharks teeth( Lee Creek ). ( see photo ) The sharks teeth in the photo's are the one's you will receive!!
