5000 PLUS -1959-1981 COPPER/MEMORIAL PENNIES + WHEATS This lot has 5000 Copper Pennies dated from 1959 - 1981, has various mints, and are 28 - 51 years old. You could get small or large dates, errors, variations, who knows, as these have not been checked for any of these. I have been throwing these into jars, tubs and buckets for years. I did notice some wheats, ( no gems ) but copper/steels all the same, as I was counting them out into this lot.Prior to and even in the first part of 1982 pennies were made of 95% Copper and 5% Zinc. I have tried to pull all of the 1982's from this lot, I don't think there are any in there. So just in case I will place 25 more in this lot to make up for the possibility. Even if pennies are never allowed to be melted they will still have cash value, which makes this a good investment. There are approximately 35 pounds here and with Copper priced at over $3.00 per pound that makes these pennies about 3 cents each to make at todays price. You will not see any pictures of just pretty coins here, the coins in the pictures are representative of the coins you will receive, some will be better than others. This is a stock photo.
